vacation is now

vacation is now and so is birthday

I'm 30 and I woke up and had to stretch out my hamstrings because I had been ignoring them for a week. Hell yeah.

I'm on vacation with Raven and it's great to spend like Multiple Days off with another person in a relatively new city. I've been to Baltimore before but only for like anime conventions so now we get to do city stuff.

Anyways ✨

I'm reading gear breakers and I'm Disappointed in the emotional pacing it really feels like 2 books got smashed into one book to get to the Gazing Into A Pretty Girls Eyes faster part which is fine but like. There's Mechs in this Book can we please slow this down there's Giant Robots.

We are going to brunch and there's bottomless mimosas so I will be getting day Drunk

Hello. Friends. Associates.

I talked to all my Chicago friends in less than a month which was thrilling and great

The August Birthday x2 trip is Planned. Laid out. Has a schedule even.

Unfortunately my talking on headsets keeps disturbing my nice wonderful roommate and because my room is 5ft x 15ft with no grounded outlets my options for my desk are limited.

so unfortunately... I think the best solution is lofting my bed again. Which might have to wait because a loft bed is money I don't have.

The Transition to ux is going so slowly and horribly. Maybe it's going well just slow. Anyways imposter syndrome is alive and well as is aceing your classes to cope.

what if I just stayed in retail for ever so I never had to do any networking ever. I hate it hate having a professional brand. I hate branding and being known. I actually don't want people to think of me ever. I want to do good work and not actually ever have to talk about it.

my personal brand is fuck you for making me think of a personal brand.

Anyways! Job hunting is great when you over and underquaified.

what's up gamers welcome to my text adventure. there are no choices.

anyways I read both books I was going to read last time along with
A Master of Djinn (Dead Djinn, #1) by P. Djèlí Clark
2/3rds of The Poppy War Trilogy by R.F. Kuang
Acceptance by Jeff VanderMeer

I should be starting on NineFox Gambit by Yoon Ha Lee soon (tonight)

Im fully back on my XCOM2 bullshit which is great because it keeps me off social media and bad because it keeps me from my Job Stuff.

but being off social media keeps me from remembering that my perch in any cultural/racial group is relative ahhh. I've been having extreme alienation thoughts about how i relate to media and fandom and now this? A New day everyone can forget I'm black on!

Anyways its Juneteenth and like a lot of people I have Some thoughts on it being a federal holiday while Black people work mostly in jobs that don't get federal holidays off. However, getting any federal holiday that isn't about a dead white person is still a small win and we can change the laws about federal holidays.

Tomorrow is fathers day a and it's pride weekend and the fact that I cannot be out celebrating both those holidays at the same bar is a shame i will instead watch fast 9 probably.

i only have 1.5 more days in pa before I'm back to my regular stuff

its been...something to watch someone watch her dad slowly die.

I started playing a new video game and relaunched my portfolio site and made new friends and connected to old ones for a Passover seder.


i kept opening dreamwidth on my phone to write something but its not good mobile :( so then I wound forget before I got to my computer which is also how I missed a window to get a covid shot Even though I was sitting in front of my open computer.

wow love to be like this.


In the seder i attended i was made the wise child because I was in the Jewish community the longest and its always wild to remember that I know things about things.

also nice to see another black jewish person I know personally.

Anyways Genshin impact is fun because I don't have to play with other people but I could, if I wanted to.

Now I'm absolutely rambling.
